Membership

Who can join the Bath Garden Club?

Anyone with an interest in gardening, beautification, conservation, or community service is welcome—whether you're an experienced gardener or just enjoy plants.

How do I become a member?

Attend one club meeting or event, then submit a completed application and dues to the Membership Chair. You'll receive a welcome letter, a yearbook, and committee details.

What are the membership dues?

Active members pay $30 annually; Associate members (after 10 years of active service or by board discretion) pay $35. Honorary members do not pay dues.

What if I can’t attend every meeting?

Members are expected to attend at least one meeting a year, but we understand life is busy. There are many ways to stay involved.

What happens if I forget to pay my dues?

You'll receive reminders. If dues are not paid by April 15, membership may lapse per club policy.

Meetings & Events

When and where are meetings held?

Meetings are typically held on the third Tuesday of each month at Grace Episcopal Church or Bath Senior Center. Some are held in the evening, and guests are welcome.

Can I attend a meeting before joining?

Yes! We encourage prospective members to attend a meeting or event to learn more about us.

What kinds of activities do members participate in?

Members enjoy workshops, speaker programs, garden visits, civic gardening projects, and special events. We learn, serve, and have fun together.

What are the major fundraising events?

The Annual Plant Sale in May and Festival of Greens in December support our scholarships and civic work. All members are encouraged to help.

How does the club choose its programs?

Each year, we survey members to learn what topics they’re most excited about—like native plants, climate change, pollinators, and garden design. Then we invite local experts to speak, often offering stipends. Programs are designed to be practical, inspiring, and relevant to both home and civic gardening.

Volunteering & Committees

Do I need to be a Master Gardener to participate?

Not at all! Our members range from Master Gardeners to those who simply appreciate gardens. There are roles for every level of experience.

How are committees organized?

Members choose from committees such as Civic Beautification, Garden Therapy, Youth Activities, Hospitality, and more. Participation strengthens our club and our community.

Is there a way to get involved without gardening?

Yes! From planning events to helping with communications or hospitality, there are plenty of meaningful ways to contribute.

Scholarships & Community Support

Do you offer scholarships or grants?

Yes. We offer scholarships for students studying horticulture, environmental science, and related fields. We also support youth and conservation programs in the Bath area.
